Week 3 – Who has guided my faith journey?

An Invitation to stillness

“For God alone My Soul Waits in Silence” Psalm 62:1

This week our readings, reflections and prayers help us to consider the importance of other people in helping to guide our journeys of faith and discipleship. Here, at the start of the week, you are invited to spend times in stillness with God. You may wish to use these times to ask God to show you the people who have had an impact on you as you have grown in faith and in love for Jesus. You may wish to ask God to help you understand more of how these other disciples have affected you. No doubt you will already know some of this but maybe in the silence and the stillness God may surprise you with new insights. These insights may be occasions for renewed gratitude.

“I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers”
St. Paul in Philippians 1: 3-4

“Since we are surrounded by so great a crowd of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely”
Hebrews 12:1

‘I never forget
that since my earliest childhood
there have been voices drawing me on,
teaching me how,
in spite of my weakness,
to sing here below
the canticle of love
that I desire to sing throughout eternity.’

Thérèse of Lisieux
